Denham - Dolphins at Monkey Mia
Located on the western coast of the Peron Peninsula 831 kilometres north of Perth, Denham is the westernmost town in Australia.
The town was named in honour of Captain Henry Mangles Denham of the Royal Navy, who charted Shark Bay in 1858.
Today Denham survives as the gateway for tourists who come to see the dolphins at Monkey Mia, which is located 23 kilometres northeast of the town. The town also has an attractive beach and a jetty which is popular with those interested in fishing and boating.
Rosie arrived in Carnarvon in 2008 after travelling Australia with only a rucksack to her name, and stumbled into a job at Hot Hits 99.7 with no experience whatsoever, deciding to give it a go and move on if it didn't work out!
Rosie admits she was more than a little shaky to start with but the community here was so supportive and made her feel so welcome that she stuck with it.
Rosie is so grateful to be living in such an amazing country. Her social life is pretty hectic at times - she loves to cook (and be cooked for) so lots of time is spent eating with various members of her motley crew of friends.
Rosie was brought up listening to a weird and wonderful mix of music – her dad was a big fan of Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones to name just a few, whereas her Mum preferred Fleetwood Mac and Elton John, but was also slightly obsessed with Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise when it came out!
Her parents' love of almost all genres of music has been handed down to Rosie, and she loves to present as much of today's music as possible on Hot Hits 99.7.
